San Francisco Fleet Week Kicks Off Today!

As we enter October, fall is in the air, the skies are clear, making it an ideal time to buy or sell a home in San Francisco and Marin. This also means it is time for the 35th annual Fleet Week in San Francisco!

Fleet Week kicks off today, October 3rd, and runs through October 10th on the Marina Green. Fleet Week began in 1981 when then Mayor Dianne Feinstein celebrated our nation's military sea services. This public event continues to pay tribute to those who bravely serve in and contribute to our Armed Forces. The event also joins together military and civilian forces to advance cooperation and knowledge in critical humanitarian assistance.

This annual cavalcade of ships, jaw-dropping air show and community events have become an integral part of the City's culture, attracting millions of attendees while being heralded as the model for Fleet Weeks nationwide.

Fleet Week Air Show

Featuring the United States Navy Blue Angels, the Air Force’s F-22 Raptor, the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 and, from France, the Breitling Jet Team, the air show takes places October 6th through the 9th in the skies above the San Francisco waterfront.

Tickets can be reserved in advance and cost from $55 to $65 and ensure you get a fantastic view along the waterfront that is yours for the entire day. There is also an upgraded Flight Deck Experience package that includes seating in a club-like setting and a buffet lunch.

Fleet Week Ships

During the 7 days of Fleet Week, destroyers, cruisers and amphibious carries are docked along the Embarcadero. Visitors are able to wander through these military vessels to better understand how sailors serving in the United States Navy, Coast Guard and the Canadian Navy live while at sea. All ship tours are free and take place October 4th through the 10th.
